April and Jim had already been married a few weeks before I had a chance to meet them but opted to do post wedding portraits instead of having them done on their wedding day. We had hurricane Felix just off our coast line on our original scheduled date for our session, so it got pushed back to Labor Day weekend. The challenging part to April and Jim’s session was the holiday weekend crowds that had flocked to every popular coastal location in Florida. What made this shoot unique is that it was done in tandem with Wesley and Ashley Finch of Finch Photography . I’d met Wesley through an internet photograph group that we had both belonged to, and over time we recognized that we had similar shooting styles, and editing taste. When we finally met in person we hit it off like we had been friends for years. Since bridal portraits and shoots were more my “thing” as Finch Photography mainly concentrate on newborns and family’s, they asked me to come along for the session, plus it gave Wesley and I a chance to finally shoot together and bounce techniques off each other. April and Jim were great and even challenged us to include Jim’s Harley Davidson motorcycle in on the session. As I’m told the cycle had something to do with their first encounter. So, the following are a few shots from their session. I must say, this was the first time I had ever climbed a tree to get a shot, but I think it was totally worth the effort. Be sure to follow the links to Finch Photography! They really do amazing work!
